Scanning Photograph Tips.
If you are going to scan in your photograph yourself, here are a few helpful tips to ensure we receive the best quality possible.
Alternatively, you can take your photograph to your local stationary/photo store and they will scan it for you.
Tip 1: Preparing Your Scanner
When preparing your scanner, make sure that all settings are in default mode.To ensure the best quality possible make sure that the scanners glass is clean, free from any dust or marks, because we don't want these to show up in the final scan.
Tip 2: Preparing Your Photograph
Please make sure your photograph is free of dust marks and smudges. You can wipe over it gently, with a dry cloth. DO NOT get the photograph wet or use any cleaning products on it!Tip 3: Scanner Settings
Make sure your scanners settings are at the default Please set the image resolution to at least 300dpi and for small images, make it 600dpi.Tip 4: Scanning Your Photograph
Scan in your photograph and save it as either a jpg or tiff.
Please remember that what you scan in and see on your screen is the quality we will be working with.
If you don't have a scanner or are not sure about scanning in, you send your photograph to us and we shall do all the work using our professional Epson Perfection 4490 Photograph scanner. Your photograph will not be physically touched and will be returned to you in the same quality we received it. Or you can take it to your local stationary shop. Please make sure it is scanned at 300dpi.
